Soul Contracts for Empaths: Why You Can’t Say No
Are you an over-giver who puts others first?
Do you do everything for everyone while leaving little time for yourself? Are you exhausted at the end of the day because of what you’ve done for other people? If so, you may have a soul contract as a martyr. If you have trouble saying no or feel tremendous guilt at the thought of letting anyone down, this may apply to you.
What is a Soul Contract?
A soul contract is a non-physical agreement you make in a previous life that is affecting your current
When we incarnate, we make contracts with our soul family and other beings. These contracts can be for anything, from helping others in their spiritual journey to making sure we fulfill our life purpose.
You also have contracts with yourself
Often these contracts are made in distress or during dire circumstances. You can carry these lifetime after lifetime.
In my experience doing intuitive readings, I’ve seen hundreds of examples of people having the soul contract of a martyr. It often comes from seeing a loved one hurt or harmed (in this life or a previous one) and declaring to the Universe, “I should be the one suffering, not them!”
When that happens, you subconsciously feel it is your responsibility to take on other people’s pain and suffering at your own expense.
Perhaps you feel selfish if you take time, money, or material rewards for yourself.
I’ve worked through the Soul Contract of being a martyr, and you can too!
