Tarot Birth Cards – Your Life Purpose Illustrated
Have you ever wondered about your purpose this lifetime and why you are really here?
Most of us know our star sign, but did you know that we each have a set of Tarot Birth Cards created from the numbers in your birth date?
For many of us, our whole lives are spent trying to work this out. And day by day, we get closer and closer as we connect deeply with our inner wisdom and find our way forward on this spiritual journey.
Today, I want to help you on your journey by sharing with you a powerful, yet simple, resource to help you discover your life purpose using just your birth date and the Tarot cards.
Your Tarot Birth Cards
Most of us know our star sign, but did you know that we each have a set of Tarot Birth Cards?
Created from the numbers in your birth date, Tarot Birth Cards represent our potential in this lifetime and the qualities we can draw upon in order to fulfill our spiritual mission. They show you the strengths, challenges and key themes of an entire lifetime, with great accuracy and depth.
The best part? They’re easy to work out and once you know Tarot Birth Cards, you can continue to integrate this new knowledge into your life to create even greater alignment and fulfillment on a spiritual level.
How to Calculate Your Tarot Birth Cards
We each have two (and occasionally three) Tarot Birth Cards, based on the date of our birth.
To determine your Tarot Birth Cards, add the numbers in your birth date – i.e. MM + DD +YY + YY. For example, if your birthday is April 7, 1969, you will add 4 + 7+ 19 + 69 = 99
Then add those 2 digits. For example, 9 + 9 = 18. This gives us the first Birth Card – the Moon (card number 18). Then, reduce this down to one number for the second Birth Card (e.g. 1 + 8 =9) – the Hermit (card number 9).
If the birthday adds up to a three-digit number (e.g. April 27th 1979 is 4 + 27 + 19 + 79 = 129), the first two digits are considered as one number (e.g. 12) and are added to the third digit (e.g. 12 + 9 = 21).
The first Birth Card in this case is the World. The second Birth Card is the Hermit (2 + 1).
And if your birthday adds up to a single digit (e.g. 8 + 0 = 8), look for the Tarot Birth Card pair (see below). In the case of the single digit of 8 the pair is the Star (card number 17, or 1 + 7).

How to Interpret Your Tarot Birth Cards
So now you have your Tarot Birth Cards, what do they actually mean?
Thankfully, you don’t need to be a master of Tarot to find out! I’ve included brief descriptions below.
Wheel of Fortune (10) & Magician (1)
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” This is your mantra with the Tarot Birth Card combination! You can take any situation that life throws at you and turn it into something that benefits you and others.
You see yourself as the creator of your destiny, rather than being at the mercy of your fate, and with this mindset, you can achieve your greatest dreams and desires.
Your gift is your ability to manifest and attract good fortune.
Justice (11) & High Priestess (2)
You are a seeker of truth. You are talented at weighing up a situation and seeing it for what it truly is. You are not bound by rules 100% of the time – instead you have this innate ability to see through the veil and determine what is really going on.
You are an intuitive decision-maker, guided by your gut feeling when dealing with challenging situations. You can easily ‘read’ a situation without having all of the information at hand.
Hanged Man (12) & Empress (3)
You are a soulful creative with this Tarot Birth Card combination. You have the gift of creative expression and you do so by taking a step back and seeing the world from a different angle.
You may be more passive and contemplative by nature, but it allows you to open up to new experiences and new perspectives that others do not see. This allows creativity to blossom and come forth in new and exciting ways.
As an artist, your art comes from a soulful, spiritual place.
Death (13) & Emperor (4)
You are a change agent, here to restructure the world around you. You have clear insight into when a situation or way of operating no longer serves you or the greater society, and you are not afraid to implement sweeping changes in order to set a new path.
You are here to rebuild and lay down the foundations for something new to emerge. And you step into a position of leadership when it is needed, so as to advocate the change that is in place.
Temperance (14) & Hierophant (5)
You are here to bring about balance – balance between freedom (Temperance) and structure (Hierophant). You acknowledge the importance of setting a framework to guide your thinking and your actions.
But, you also have a talent for flowing in and out of that framework, depending on the situation. You are flexible and adaptable, but also respectful of tradition and convention.
Your gift is to be able to share this balance with those around you, by taking conventional wisdom and showing others how to integrate it into their lives. You may be a teacher, a spiritual guide, a life coach or a mentor.
Devil (15) & Lovers (6)
You are here to love – to give love, to receive love, to make love. You are guided by a deep love for the Universe but you also need to be careful that this love does not turn into desire or lust.
You are deeply passionate and can direct that passion for the greater good of society when you apply your highest morals and values to your decision-making. You dance the fine line between freedom and boundaries, and make the best decisions when you are acting from a place of inner truth and Universal love.
Tower (16) & Chariot (7)
You are a mover and a shaker! You’re here on this earth to challenge the status quo, to shake things up and to tear down the barriers and obstacles that get in our way. You are known for speaking your mind and being incredibly determined and forthright. Nothing will stop you on your path!
You have no fear and you continually rise to the challenge, even when many others would quit. You are a game changer and a force to be reckoned with.
Star (17) & Strength (8)
You’re here to shine your bright light in this world and create a sense of hope, faith and strength not just for yourself but others. You are traveling on your own soul’s journey but you are also inspiring others to find their path. With this Tarot Birth Card pair, you are a healer and a source of light for many people.
Your personality is optimistic and hopeful. You have complete trust in the Universe, knowing that you are being guided along your path. You come from a place of deep inner strength that is fortified by the strength of your belief and your faith.
Moon (18) & Hermit (9)
You have a natural talent and ability to see ‘through’ things. Your focus is not on what is directly in front of you, but what is going on behind the scenes.
You are interested in the subconscious mind, the intuition, and all that is hidden and unseen. And you have a deep desire to uncover your spiritual path and do so through meditation, spiritual journeying, visualization and so on.
You may be a recluse and prefer to withdraw from the world around you so that you can focus your attention on your spiritual path and inner knowledge. You stand in the shadows so you can observe from afar, taking in all that is unseen.
Sun (19), Wheel of Fortune (10) & Magician (1)
You are an eternal optimist and a master of manifestation. You see the good in all things and find positivity and fun in all aspects of your life. You have a talent for turning your situation around so that it truly works for you, no matter what the Universe has thrown your way.
You may be guided towards the Law of Attraction and the art of manifesting your dreams. And you are particularly successful in creating your desired future!
Judgement (20) & High Priestess (2)
With this Tarot Birth Card combination, you may feel at times as if you are not ‘of this world’. You lie somewhere between the spirit world and the earthly world, floating between the veil of consciousness throughout your lifetime. You may feel called to the Spirit world, communicating with those who have passed or being guided by your Spirit Guides. You are an intuitive being.
World (21) & Empress (3)
You have a gift to share – allow it to come forth and ‘birth’ it into this world. By doing so, you will help many, many people around the world who will benefit from your gifts. You are here to help others create and achieve amazing things in their lives.
Your personality is holistic, abundant, creative and expressive. You are in your element when you are creating!
Fool (22) & Emperor (4)
You have a joyous spirit, a great sense of humor and can see the folly in life. You’re a born leader, though don’t take yourself too seriously. You are here to teach others how by being a role model.
You can combine logic with intuition to have inspired actions that create successful results. With a keen intuition you have the patience, determination and discipline to make things happen. Your success will also benefit others, and that’s important to you!
